The day came around quickly. I can still remember running into Harry 18 months ago and congratulating him on his engagement. We go back a bit, he played football and tennis with Sam, and they flatted together. I thought he was joking when he asked about wedding photos. Turned out he wasn't when he asked again later.

Now I don't do a lot of weddings. Sport, events and dance are my thing. But I do like capturing people doing what they love, so perhaps I should be a wedding guy too. I suggested we should have a proper chat, particularly with Claudia (sorry Harry). So we did. Still keen.

One more test, how about a sort of an engagement shoot at the potential venue, almost a year to the day before the wedding. I'll get some photo ideas and check the light. Claudia and Harry get to see if I can take a photo.

22 January, absolutely stunner of a day. Hot, no wind. Permission to wear shorts. An early start to get over the Remutakas and grab a decent breakfast in Martinborough. A quick trip to the venue to see how its looking.

Bridal prep stuff. Nice and relaxed. Hair and makeup well sorted by Jaymie and Dayna.

The guys, surprisingly well organised, scrubbed up well. Good work mum and dad.

Harry and Claudia, all set to meet at Tironui Farm.

A ceremony in the trees, with shade for the guests. Tricky light for me, but no excuses, I worked hard.

A couple of stops with the bridal party. The Tironui hosts were superb.

A perfect night for speeches and dinner in the olive grove.

Back up the hill, a chance for some peace and quiet as the sun sets. Except I'm there.

And then back to the party.

Claudia and Harry, congratulations to you both.

Thanks for having me along to capture such a special day for you and your families.
